Port Moody wants to be known as "The City of the Arts" and so tries to promote "The Arts" by supporting local artists in the community. There are many small private galleries and shops as well as individual artists' studios. There is also the Port Moody Art Centre and Gallery located in the old Port Moody City Hall. Port Moody's current City Hall and Library also spotlight various artists' work and has a theatre.
